KSOCKS V2 Released!
"Just sockets in the kernel"
Amherst, New Hampshire - December 5, 2001- OSR Open Systems Resources, Inc. is pleased to announce the
availability of Version 2 of its kernel mode sockets development kit (KSOCKS) with support for Windows
2000 and Windows XP.
KSOCKS is a comprehensive development kit that supports network communications in
the kernel mode versus user mode operating environment of Windows. "For those familiar with functionality
provided by various user mode socket interfaces, they won't have to change anything to achieve the security
and performance enhancements of KSOCKS," said OSR consulting partner, Peter Viscarola. "It really is, just
sockets in the kernel."
KSOCKS V2.0 comprises a major upgrade to previous versions, including both functionality
and performance enhancements. "We completely ripped it apart and put it back together," said Mark Cariddi,
OSR development lead for KSOCKS. "This was a tough decision given the lack of problem reports logged against
the V1.x code base, but in the end, the revision effort defined a solid platform to build upon."
"We're looking forward to working with both the existing and potential client base for
KSOCKS," indicated OSR sales director, Dan Root. "This isn't a lump of code we heave over the
wall to our clients. We work with them and offer support throughout the product lifecycle to ensure success."
More details on this newly released version of KSOCKS are available on the
KSOCKS Data Sheet.
