Why should I pre-order your book "Introduction to WDF?"
For one very selfish reason: Pre-ordering your book guarantees you a copy from our first printing, just as quickly as we can get it out the door to you. This is our first foray into the publishing world, and we're going to be conservative. The first run of this book won't be very large. We'll print enough to fulfill the pre-orders and have some to sell in the OSR Online Store. If there's a big demand for these books after release, we will most likely run out and a lot of folks will be waiting for us to hurry up and get the second printing done. And we'll be there trying not to say "I told you so" and reminding people that if they'd only pre-ordered, they'd be reading instead of waiting.

There's also at least one unselfish reason to pre-order the book: By pre-ordering, you show your support for OSR, The NT Insider, and all the work we do for the community. It gives you a chance to stand up and be counted as a supporter.

How does the pre-order process work?
Simple: You go to the OSR Online Store and select the book in the "Publications" section. Select "Book Pre-Order With Deposit," click "buy" and check out. We will immediately charge your credit card a pre-purchase deposit, and you'll be charged the balance (plus shipping and handling) when we ship the book to you.

Do I have to pay a deposit to be able to pre-order the book?
Yes.

Is there any way I can pre-order the book and not have to pay a deposit?
Not at the present time.

Why are you requiring a deposit for book pre-orders?
Because we want to be sure that the pre-orders we receive are genuine. We've got money tied up in this book publishing thing, and we would like to have a good idea of how many copies we really need to print in the first run.

What happens to my personal information (including my email address, shipping address, and credit card number) when I place my pre-order?
We store your personal information offline. As with any OSR Online store transaction, we promise not sell or provide any of your private information to third parties as a result of your pre-order.

Suppose I pre-order the book, pay my deposit, and the book is cancelled or delivery of the book is significantly postponed?
Yeah, we know we are behind & realize that some of you have been waiting a while. We appreciate your patience. If we end up canceling the publication of the book, or if the book schedule is changed such that we won't be able to ship you your copy within a year of you placing your pre-order, we can refund 100% of your deposit. Just send an email OnlineStore@osr.com to request a cancellation & deposit refund.

Suppose I decide that I don't want to buy the book between the time that I place a pre-order and when the book is printed?
You lose your deposit. Sorry, but we think this is fair given that your deposit actually reserves you a copy of the book. On the other hand, we won't charge you the balance for the book (or send it to you) when it ships.

Suppose I move between the time I pre-order the book and the time it ships?
You're responsible for sending us email at OnlineStore@osr.com with your old address and your new address, and noting that you have a book pre-order pending. We'll be happy to ship to the new address instead of the old.

So, seriously, when will I receive my book?
Yeah, we’re behind...we know. With the workload we've been under here, the availability of our book, has been delayed.

Your pre-order will guarantee you a copy from the first printing. While there is no definitive publication date, all pre-order customers will be notified when one is determined. We thank you for your patience, and continued support.

Suppose I get the book and I hate it?
Huh? Like that's going to happen. You know who we are. You read The NT Insider, right? But, we never want anyone to have anything of ours that they hate. So, in the very unlikely event that you want to return your copy of the book: Contact us at OnlineStore@osr.com within 30 days of your purchase; send us back the book in original, undamaged condition; and we'll send you back your money (minus shipping and handling).

Suppose I pre-order the book, pay my deposit, and the earth is struck by a giant meteor or something happens causing massive amounts of dust to rise in the atmosphere and blot out the sun?
If you can find us, we'll give you back your deposit... probably in small unmarked bills. Otherwise, we'll keep your deposit and use it to buy food and ammunition.
